18th stage of the round-the-world expedition, initiated by International Association "A Man, Ecology, the Peace" is still in progress. As Yuri Gusho, the chief of the expedition said by telephone, the expedition reached Ushuaia (a city in the south of Argentina) on 25 July. This is a main city of Tierra del Fuego.
     Many "Niva" cars, as well as VAZ - 2106, VAZ -2107 and VAZ -2109 cars, rolling over the island's roads surprised members of the expedition. Even Tierra del Fuego's police own Russian "Ladas".
     As for the city itself, Ushuaia made a great impression on Russian adventurers. Each year 120 thousands of tourists come to Ushuaia, the annual turnover in tourist business amounts to 50 millions dollars, and it gives about 4000 work places. There are many English-speaking people in Ushuaia. One of the inhabitants, the owner of VAZ-2109 car wanted to join the expedition.
     On 27 July there was a press- conference. Then the members of the expedition went further - to Chili through Cordilleras. No maintenance is required for "Lada" cars.
